Come In
Delicious kisses- momentarily swept away.
Dazed and amused ~ amazed by you.
You love the woman, who ignores you~
The Girl-Next-Door, adores you.
I can't fairly claim to love you,
But you crawled quietly, beneath my skin.
And damn, it felt good to let you in.
Too bad it's something I must forget, now.
That's okay, though;
It was a beautiful let down.
Re-tracing my steps,
I'm tracing eights,
And staying up with my thoughts, far too late.
Too late to put the action in rewind.
Monday came, and you changed our minds.
And while I know you're not gone,
It ached, like goodbye.
She's the one, who embodies pain;
This One, dances for joy,
In a flood of rain.
She plays you, like a game,
Never showing a glimmer of shame.
And here I am, to take you in,
Should you ever tire of her chagrin.
You swear, it could be heaven,
Yet have endured only hell.
Where do you go, and what do you say,
To fool yourself so well?
I shouldn't't even bother to compare,
I know I can't compete;
I can make you smile,
But she makes you feel complete.
So, of course, there's no point in having you by me,
While she holds the deed to your heart.
But know that my door and my arms are always open,
You can come in any time you want.
